FROM H. P. Lovecraft
TO Zealia Brown Reed
28-Oct-1928

Abstract

Lovecraft has not yet finished "The Mound"; congratulations on the sale of "Red Blood", glad Frank Belknap Long could be of service, and confusion on Uzzell's "commission" (and unaware of any writer's handbook by Hearn); thanks for the photographs of Zealia's son, which Lovecraft returns, and on their youthful shifts in interest, comparing them to Frank Belknap Long and Donald Wandrei, and touching on modernism and "Machine Age" culture; on the delay in response from Farnsworth Wright on "The Unchaining"; hoping "Husband pro Forma" works out well with Long's guidance, seguing into the difficulty of writing novels vs. short stories; on the mild autumn weather.
