Abstract
Sorry to hear Smith has been unwell; glad Smith liked Howard's "The Valley of the Worm" (and Hugh Rankin's illustration), and praise for Smith's "The Charnel God" and illustration; looking forwards to Smith's "The Death of Malygris" and "The Colossus of Ylourgne," with hopes Farnsworth Wright lets Smith illustrate "Through the Gates of the Silver Key"; on William Lumley's "Dweller" in the Fantasy Fan; on snakes (with a reference to Rudyard Kipling's "The Sending of Dana Da"); speculation on the forces that play on Earth from outside, and an unknown ancient civilization. Postscript asking where Smith gets his Not at Night anthologies.
