Abstract
Scribners turns down "Hawk on the Blue," but Derleth tries again with "The No-Sayers"; Howard glad that Derleth liked "Black Talons" (originally "Talons in the Dark") in Strange Detectives (and Howard working on detective stories), which has also taken "Teeth of Doom" and "People of the Serpent"; Action Stories gone bi-monthly; on Steve Costigan, Dennis Dorgan (in Magic Carpet) and Breckinridge Elkins; enjoying Evening in Spring; Astounding shifting to science-fiction, which Howard doubts he'll be able to write to (and on "pseudo-scientific" stories and fans in general); on Derleth's poem; on the American Fiction Guild.
