Abstract
Apologies for the delay in answering; hoping Derleth has had good luck with "Place of Hawks," asking after "Five Alone" and Lovecraft's story; on Howard's trip through Austin to San Antonio for the Fiesta de San Jacinto, leading into a discussion of cowboys (and black cowboys, especially Bill Pickett); an anecdote of a friend that wanted to be a rodeo rider, leading into another about Howard being thrown from a horse; asking after the milk strike in Wisconsin. Postscript asking for a snapshot of Derleth, and giving one of himself.
