Abstract
On writing vs. manual labor; on Jeffers, and Smith sworn off contemporary verse, preferring French of the Parnassian period (mentioning Leconte de Lisle and Verlaine); on the review of Sandalwood in the Chronicle (and translating Baudelaire); no time to continue "The Saturnienne"; on the errors in Smith's French poem; a copy of Sandalwood sent to Mrs. Clark.
