Abstract
Smith been working at wood-cutting and cherry-piking, hence the delay in his letter (with no time for poetry or painting); H. L. Mencken bought "Requiescat"; on Sterling's "Beauty Dethroned" and "The Midway Peace" with an aside on Buddhism; enclosing some new verses; Smith anxious to have a book published; Andrew Dewing spoke of Sterling. Enclosed: "Artemis," "Chance."
