Abstract
On the financial assistance from Sen. James Phelan, Rudolph Spreckels, RaymondArmsby, and Charles Templeton Crocker, with their addresses; on Smith's poems (mentioning "Ecstasy" and "Nightfall"); on Smith's response to Sterling's poems (mentioning "The Sea's Voice"), and providing some more poems; Sterling writing a new poem every morning, and working on a new dramatic poem, "Truth"; Sterling has had no letters from Samuel Loveman, and has abstained from alcohol for seven weeks.
