Abstract

A month since Smith's letter, and Sterling has been at the Jinks (where he missed Jack London) and seen the drought come; on Smith's poems from the previous letter (citing a line from "Quest"); Sterling has written little except some newspaper verse ("Memorial Day, 1919"), and going over Charmian London's biography of her husband (The Book of Jack London); on the heat in San Francisco, and Mrs. Clark doing better; The Bellman ceased publication, but Munsey's prospers.
