Abstract
Sorry to hear Sterling has been ill (and on Smith's own health); no luck in securing a loan as yet, and Smith bemoaning his lack of income capacity and inability to provide for his parents; glad Sterling likes the poems; on Charles Warren Stoddard's poems; thanks for the inscription in Sterling's collection of sonnets; hoping this finds Sterling in better health.
