Abstract

Sterling has been up at Napa and down at Carmel, and is catching up on his correspondence; in Napa, Sterling saw a friend perform in H. M. S. Pinafore, and Cal Rice and Alice Hegan in Carmel, where the Forest Theatre was putting on Rice's "Yolanda of Cyprus"; on receiving some battlefield relics from Hopper; The Caged Eagle and Other Poems is out at last; on Smith's poems ("The Mummy," "The Flight of Azrael," and "Coldness"); thanks from Stella for the lilies; Raine Bennett starting a paper called Bohemia; Sterling wrote some verses for Bastille Day.
