Abstract
Glad to hear from Smith; comments on Smith's poems ("Desolation," "Belated Love," "The Crucifixion of Eros," "Nocturne," "Autumn Twilight," and "Arabesque"); Sterling's book The Cages Eagle and Other Poems out next week; doesn't think Robertson can publish any more poetry this year (and on reading proofs); on Smith being unhappy; Sterling not very busy, but including a poem on Ambrose Bierce (also mentioning "57"). Enclosed: "The Passing of Bierce."
