Abstract
Smith had sent a previous letter to Glen Ellen; Smith's health improved, but done no work done (and jokes about being love-sick); on the prospect of Sterling working; Hyatt (and anyone else) welcome to visit Smith in Auburn; Smith and his father working on their mine-shaft (and the prospect of working if it's no good); will try to enclose a prose-poem; Smith wishes he could see Sterling (referencing Alastor and Shelley); asking Sterling to write soon. Enclosed: "The Garden and the Tomb."
