FROM Clark Ashton Smith
TO George Sterling

Thanks for the loan of John Neihardt's roast of Poetry (with a dire prediction); Smith won't let Robertson charge Sterling for the books for Scheffauer and Loveman; Smith having written 2-3 sonnets, enclosing one ("The City of the Titans"); subjects in Smith's note-book ("The Music of Evil, "The Discord of the Spheres," "A Vision of Satan," "Uriel"), and about two-thirds done on a prose-poem ("The Demon, the Angel, and Beauty").
