Smith welcome at Carmel in the autumn; at Jack London's swinery; asking Smith to inscribe a book to Samuel Loveman, and ask Robertson to charge Sterling for the books; promising to try to send the roast of Noyes next month, and enclosing one by John Neihardt; on the day's hunting; Sterling has written three poems in four days, and won $3.55 from London at pedro; a word on "The Forest of Strange Horror."
