Abstract

On the cold in Carmel; thanks for signing Albert M. Bender's book, and promising to return Herbert Bashford's review; on the Atlantic Monthly; on Smith's poems ("Echo of Memnon," "Dream-Mystery," and "The Nereid"), with no suggestions or his own poems in return; Sterling has a bird-dog now, and goes hunting every afternoon; Hopper to come to Caramel February 1st, and Sterling wants Smith to go over to Jack London's with them.
