FROM Clark Ashton Smith
TO George Sterling
29-Oct-1912

Abstract

Thanks for "From the Mountain," and a list of other poems Sterling has sent since Smith's return ("In the Market-Place," "Discord," "The Golden Past," "Finis," "Lineage," "The Setting," "The Master Mariner"); Smith unable to obtain the English Review, and on John Masefield; Smith discouraged in writing compared to Edgar Allan Poe and John Milton (especially Paradise Lost); enclosing "The Titans in Tartarus" and beginning "The Titans Triumphant," but probably leaving off blank verse for a while.
