Abstract

Apologies for delay in replying, and praise from Smith's "Nero"; on inspiration (with mention of Edgar Allan Poe, Samuel Coleridge, and John Keats); on a letter from Schauffler; asking for Smith to visit; Sterling has been busy the last few weeks writing poems; suggesting Smith will meet Ambrose Bierce during his visit. Enclosed: "At the Grant Canyon," and "The Voice of the Dove."
