Apologies for the delay in answering Smith's letter; thanks for the photograph of Smith, and promising one of his own; Sterling gave a copy of "Ode to the Abyss" to Elisabeth Brown Cutting of the North American Review, and read it at Edwin Markham's; a word of suggestion, and wanting to see the rest of Smith's "star poems"; on Anna Branch and "Nimrod"; hope Smith can come down before Christmas; Sterling written nothing except love sonnets lately, and a stopover at the Grand Canyon.
