Abstract
On writing this letter in pencil; Sterling has been pressed for time writing a play; praise for Smith's "Ode to Music" and including some further comments on separate sheets; Sterling has not written any poetry (aside from incidentals) since January, and has to accept an invitation to Long Island; glad Smith liked the book.
