Abstract
Thanks for the inscribed copy of Something in the Dark, with praise for Frank Utpatel's jacket-design; apologies for the delay, but Smith ran short of cash and had to do some fruit-picking (with reference to John Steinbeck); including some recent poems (including "Swine and Azaleas"); a tentative list of stories for a possible collection.
Note: According to a note in Selected Letters of Clark Ashton Smith, August Derleth added a few titles ("The Second Internment," "The Death of Ilalotha," and "The Uncharted Isle") to Smith's list.
