Abstract
Thanks for the pictures of Carlsbad Caverns, with reference to Smith's "The Seven Geases"; on Lovecraft's description of his visit to Quebec, with reference to Smith's Averoigne tales; on Lovecraft's visit to Winthrop, Salem, and Marblehead; at Derleth's suggestion, Smith seeks to submit to Dime Mystery but hasn't made contact, though he notes their mutual friend Hugh B. Cave is a highlight; Smith anxious to see "The Thing on the Doorstep," and honored Lovecraft includes The Double Shadow and Other Stories in his review of weird literature (and Smith's thoughts on Walter de la Mare); on M. R. James (mentioning A Warning to the Curious, Ghost Stories of an Antiquary, "Mr. Humphreys and his Inheritance" and "The Treasure of Abbot Thomas"); praise for The Double Shadow and Other Stories by Richard F. Searight, Lee White Jr, and William Lumley; Farnsworth Wright has not yet returned "The Coming of the White Worm," and Smith sends the carbon to Lovecraft, to send on to Lumley; on "The Seven Geases."
