On Derleth's article "The Case for the Intelligentsia" and stream-of-consciousness (mentioning Gertrude Stein, James Joyce, and E. E. Cummings); on Farnsworth Wright's ill health and the latest Weird Tales (singling out "The Chadbourne Episode" by Henry S. Whitehead); hoping Wright accepts Lovecraft's "The Shadow over Innsmouth; in Wonder Stories (which contains Smith's "The God of the Asteroid"), he notes Lovecraft's hand in Hazel Heald's "The Man of Stone"; Smith still undecided on a pamphlet of his stories (The Double Shadow and Other Fantasies); Smith finished "The Dark Eidolon"; on The Worm Ouroboros, with contrast to James Branch Cabell.
