Abstract
On Smith's suggestions for "The Menace," and general comments on science fiction (mentioning Amazing Stories, Wonder Stories, and Weird Tales); on Carl Swanson abandoning publishing (returning Smith's stories with a copy of Camille Flammarion's Death and It's Mystery); hoping Holt publishes something of Derleth's; no word from Bates on Smith's stories, but forwarding a bizarre missive from fan G. P. Olsen (mentioning Abdul Alhazred, "The Nameless Offspring," and other things); hoping Derleth lands stories with Farnsworth Wright at Weird Tales and sells The Tree near the Window. Postscript: Smith finished "The Mandrakes."
