TO H. P. Lovecraft
30-Jul-1930

Abstract

Praise for Lovecraft's "The Call of Cthulhu," Lovecraft's letter in the Eyrie of Weird Tales, and on Alfred Galpin's criticism of Lovecraft's endings; on Smith's "The Necromantic Tale"; on Frank Belknap Long's experience with Hugo Gernsback (with reference to David H. Keller, Arthur B. Reeve, and R. F. Starzl), and Smith writing them about "Andromeda"; Smith's opinion on Ghost Stories, and sending them "Andromeda", "The Door to Saturn," "The Voyage to Sfanomoƫ," and "The Immeasurable Horror"; hoping to see Lovecraft's "The Whisperer in Darkness" and asking for the loan of "The Horror at Red Hook"; hope Lovecraft will get around to writing a novel, and a synopsis of "The Interstellar Changeling."
