FROM Clark Ashton Smith
TO George Sterling
1-Dec-1925

Abstract

Thanks for the Argonaut review; Smith sent a copy of Sandalwood to Benjamin de Casseres, who praised Ebony & Crystal so well; Smith does not think the weird is dead; Smith encloses his latest efforts; wishing Sterling luck on winning the Nation's prize; Weird Tales turns down "The Abominations of Yondo", though the editor took two Baudelaire translations ("Spleen") and "Horreur Sympathetique") and Smith resolves to try some other tales (with mention of H. P. Lovecraft and "Dagon"); Smith's mother has hurt her hand. Enclosed: "The Envoys."
