Abstract
Thanks for the notes from magazine editors on Smith's poems ("The Pagan," "On the Canyon-Side", and "The Witch with Amber Eyes"); hope Sterling received the copy of Ten Story Book containing Smith's "Something New"; thanks for the magazines, particularly The Chicago Literary Times, which Smith's lady-friends appreciate; Smith not doing much literary work due to his health, but cutting some live oak wood; Armsby dropped out, but Phelan and Charles Templeton Crocker still remitting some money.
