FROM Clark Ashton Smith
TO George Sterling

Thanks for Arthur Machen's The Hill of Dreams, Smith also owns a copy of Hieroglyphics (with reference to John Cowper Powys); asking after Sterling's writing, Smith himself not managing much with the heat; Smith's parents, and those of Andrew Dewing as well, with Loveman also ailing in Georgia; returning a clipping from the Bulletin; enclosing two sonnets, though not sure when the letter will get there due to the railroad strike. Enclosed: "Heliogabalus."
