Abstract
Apologies for his late answer and thanks for the check; Smith in good health but lazy; asking after Samuel Loveman; Robertson reports only half the edition has sold, the other half unbound, and plans for a new book to be titled Ebony and Crystal; on Edgar Saltus and The Philosophy of Disenchantment, and Smith's other reading (De Profundis by Oscar Wilde, John Webster and Cyril Tourner, Journal of Marie Bashkirtseff, Fyodor Dostoevsky's Journal of an Author, James Thomson's City of Dreadful Night, and Lafcadio Hearn).
