Abstract
Thanks for Sterling's sonnets (including "Respite"), and suggestion that Sterling should write more; Ross trying to get Smith to write Socialist verse, with disparaging comments on Edwin Markham, and on socialism and civilization in general (with reference to Ambrose Bierce); on Smith's latest poetry ("Saturn," "Nero, "The Shadow of the Unattained" with some sample verses); Smith entered the Kennerly contest.
