Abstract
On his trip to Natchez, MS and New Orleans, LA, particularly his meeting with E. Hoffmann Price (working on "Through the Gates of the Silver Key"), and Mobile, AL, Atlanta, GA, and up through the Carolinas to Richmond, VI, pausing at Fredricksburg to visit Samuel Loveman when he heard of the death of Lillian Clark; on his trip to visit W. Paul Cook in Boston, and then up by rail to Montreal and Quebec, then back to Providence via Marblehead, to receive the visit of Donald Wandrei and Carl F. Strauch; more on American dialects.
