Abstract

On suggestion in horror fiction (referencing Arthur Machen, "The Whie People," "The Great God Pan," Algernon Blackwood, "The Willows," etc.) and Lovecraft's recent "The Shadow over Innsmouth" draft (with reference to his commonplace book), on bridging the gulf between action and art in fiction (with reference to Robert E. Howard). Lovecraft thanks CAS for the gift of one of Smith's sculptures.
