Abstract

On the "Little People" mythology of Robert E. Howard and Arthur Machen (mentioning Howard's "The Lost Race," Machen's "The Red Hand," "Novel of the Black Seal," "The Shining Pyramid," and Margaret A. Murray's "The Witch-Cult in Western Europe); on Howard's comments on civilization, language, and anthropology; Lovecraft admits that the entire Cthulhu myth-cycle is his own invention, as well as the Necronomicon and Abdul Alhazred, Clark Ashton Smith the inventor of Tsathoggua, Arthur Machen of Aklo, etc. Reference to Howard's Kathulos from "Skull Face."
