Abstract
A thematic study of Lovecraft's fiction, with the premise that Lovecraft revisited many of the same themes, each time with greater sophistication, in particular themes of denied primacy, forbidden knowledge, illusory surface appearances, unwholesome survival, and oneiric objectivism in "The Outsider."
