Essay examining Lovecraft criticism, and why H.P.L. received the criticism that he did. Mostly, Joshi blames the accumulated misconceptions and inaccuracies that arose from poor scholarship, unavailability of materials, and subjective viewpoints promulgated by the likes of August Derleth and L. Sprague de Camp.
