I Miti di Cthulhu (1975)

Abstract

An analysis of Lovecraft as the creator of the Cthulhu Mythos, emphasizing both his philosophical approach and the misconception of his fiction by August Derleth and the Mythos fiction of Brian Lumley. Mosig also (unsuccessfully) advocated to replaced the term "Cthulhu Mythos" with "the Yog-Sothoth Cycle of Myth (or YSCOM)." Originally published in I Miti di Cthulhu (Italian) and The Miskatonic Feb 1976 (English) in 1976, then revised in Whispers 9.

Translated in French as "H. P. Lovecraft, créateur de Mythes" in Requiem vol. 2, no. 6 (1976).

Translated in German as "H. P. Lovecraft: Schoepfer eines Mythos" in Zeitschrift fuer Horrorliteratur 48 (1977) and as "H. P. Lovecraft: Mythenschoepfer" in Ueber H. P. Lovecraft (1984).
